Michael Jackson remains an iconic African-American singer, entertainer, dancer, songwriter, and a dramatic composer of thrilling music. The musician was born in August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to Joseph Jackson and Katherine Jackson and he dies in 2009 at the age of 50 years. The young Michael learned to play music from his father who was a guitarist. During the 1960s, Jackson put his four sons together to develop their music career. Michael joined the group when he was five years and he immediately became the lead vocalist in the Jackson 5 band. The other members of the group were Marlon, Tito, Jermaine, and Jackie. The Jackson 5 performed throughout Indiana where they impressed many fans. Thereafter, the group produced their first single, Big Boy, which remained largely unknown since the album sold a few copies. 

The Jackson 5 band embraced Michael as their lead vocalist and leader and their father enlisted them to work with top R&B artists like Gladys Knight, James Brown, and Dave. Motown record label identified the Jackson 5 talent, the owner, Berry Gordy, approached them, and they signed an agreement in 1969. Motown changed the lifestyle and career of Jackson by introducing him and his brothers to the top performances in the music industry. Jackson 5 band moved to Los Angles, California from Indiana to live with the Motown owner and Diana Ross. Jackson was oriented to the music career by the exposure he gained from the Supremes under the management of Diana Ross and Gordy. Michael and his brothers produced the first album, Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5 in December 1969, and they attracted high public following. Diana rose acted as a mother for the Jackson 5 for a year and half when they lived in her house. Besides providing a family setting and love to the young children, she also nurtured their voices and enhanced the development of Michael’s career. The group produced their first single with Motown in November 1969. The song, I Want You Back reached the number one slot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and they sold two million copies within six weeks. The first song transformed the group and they were accorded high status as the best children singers. In March 1970, the group released their second single ABC that got slot number one in the U.S. billboard and sold 2 million records within three weeks. Three months later in June, the third single, The Love You Save and Motown was noticed as the best record for children music. The group produced the fourth single song I’II Be There  during the fall of 1970 satisfying Bary’s promise to make them the top celebrity kids in America. The Jackson 5 group produced more songs during until 1976, when they broke with Gordy to pursue solo careers.

Michael started his solo career in 1971 when he stopped the Motown management from interfering with his songs with their suggestions of singing styles. However, he continued to go on tours and perform with the rest of the band members. In 1971, Michael produced the song, Got to Be There that topped the Billboard Hot 100. The group performed in 45 cities during the summer of 1971 the song, Never Can Say Goodbye. The group staged an animation carton business in 1971 under the guidance of Diana Ross. Michael’s career progressed gradually and in 1972 he launched the album, Ben. Michael exclusively produced the song Looking Through the Windows without the interference of the Motown team and it sold millions of records. The team strayed witj Motown until 1976, when they wanted to produce their own music and they disagreed with the management. Thereafter, the group changed their name to the Jacksons, and in 1978, they produced their first album with Epic records. In 1979, Michael focused on his solo career and produced the album, Off the Wall. The song Don’t Stop ‘Til You get Enough was the biggest hit and it sold millions of copies because Michael integrated pop and funk music. Furthermore, the song won the Grammy Award and song that were recognized in the album includes Rock With You and She’s Out of My Life. In 1980, the group recorded another album, Triumph which sold over a million copies. In 1982, Michael and Paul McCartney produced the single, The Girl Is Mine that was widely revered among fans.     

Michael’s solo career picked up during the 1970s and 80s when he released albums and singles. The fame of the artist, entertainer, and businessperson increased his albums sales. For example, the 1982 Thriller album sold 40 million records and won two Grammy Awards. The album made Michael the best dancer, singer, and entertainer across the world as children started wearing like him and he was considered the King of Pop music. Michael started practicing with his new dancing style, the Moonwalker that he used on many songs. The following year saw Michael produce the single hit song, Billie Jean that won an award before Beat it. His business prospects grew as he signed a $5 million deal to promote PepsiCo in 1983. However, during the shooting of the commercial he suffered severe burns on the face and scalp prompting him to do plastic surgery. The entertainer produced the hit song, We Are the World as a charity single for the US to help Africa. The artist launched the album Bad in 1987, with songs like Man in the Mirror, but it failed to outperform the Thriller. During 1991, Michael released the hit song Black or White under the album Dangerous. Jackson performed a show in 1993 during the half-time of Superbowl XXVII. However, in the same year, he encountered child molestation allegations against a 13-year-old boy. Michael married Lisa Maire Presley in 1994, but they divorced two years later. In 1996, he married Debbie Rowe and had a son and daughter, Michael Joseph Prince Jackson Jr. and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson. Michael divorced Rowe in 1999 and concentrated in music. In 2001, he released the album Invincible and in 2003 a documentary about his life known as Living with Michael Jackson. Child molestation claims resurfaced again in 2003-2005 resulting in a trial in which he was declared innocent in June 2005. Jackson was slated to perform in London in July 8, but he sadly passed away in June 25, 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
